Banana bread is a classic baked good that is loved by many, but it can often be loaded with sugar and unhealthy ingredients. If you're looking to enjoy a slice of banana bread without the guilt, try making my healthy version at home! To make my healthy signature banana bread, start by using almond meal or whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour. This will add more fiber and nutrients to the bread. Next, opt for natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup instead of white sugar. These sweeteners will add flavor without the added refined sugars. Finally, use coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil in place of butter to add moisture to the bread without the added saturated fat. With these simple swaps, you can enjoy a delicious and healthy banana bread that is packed with nutrients and flavour!

Ingredients

DRY:

  • 1 cup almond meal

  • 1 cup oat flour

  • 1/3 cup desiccated coconut

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • Pinch of cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup dark choc chips


WET:

  • 2-3 mashed ripe bananas

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup almond milk

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl combine all dry ingredients (excluding choc chips).


Step 2

In a seperate bowl combine wet ingredients.


Step 3

Add wet mixture to dry and mix until just combined.


Step 4

Fold through choc chips.


Step 5

Spoon batter into lined baking tin and top with your favourite toppings!


Step 6

Bake for 40 minutes on 180*C.
