About the Recipe
Who doesn’t love recreating chocolate bars from your childhood? These bars have three thick layers and a delicious mix of salty and sweet. They are also easy, healthy + YUMMY!
Ingredients
BASE:
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup pitted dates
4 tbsp coconut oil, melted
MIDDLE:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup pitted dates
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup hot water
Sprinkle of peanuts
TOP:
1x block dark choc
2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation
Combine ‘top’ ingredients in a food processor until mixture comes together. Add a pinch of salt. Pour into lined baking tin and press firmly with fingers.
Blitz ‘middle’ ingredients in a food processor until smooth and creamy. You may need to add more water if mixture is too sticky. Pour over base layer, sprinkle with peanuts and put in freezer to set.
Simmer chocolate and coconut oil on medium heat until melted. Pour over top layer and allow to set in freezer for a few hours.
